The problem

In most households the work of running the place is visible but the work of tracking it is not. One person ends up holding the schedule, the chore rotation and the shopping list in their head, and that asymmetry is invisible precisely because it never gets written down.

Why it exists

Splitting chores is easy. Splitting the job of remembering the chores is the hard part, and it is the part that actually causes friction. I wanted the tracking itself to live outside either person's head, where both could see it and neither had to own it.

How I solved it

One shared surface for events, chores, and lists, with fairness made legible rather than assumed — you can see the distribution of work rather than argue about it. An assistant sits on top of the shared state so either partner can ask what needs doing without first learning the app's structure.
